The Backus Diagnostic Imaging Department fielded three dodgeball teams that joined several other local teams in support of Madonna Place's fifth annual Charity Dodgeball Tournament that took place Saturday, March 24 at the Samuel Huntington School in Norwich. The creative efforts of budding young artists at the Mary Allen Ross Child Care Center at Backus could be seen at a Children's Art Show which was held Thursday, March 22 at Backus in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the Child Care Center. The artwork will continue to be on display at various locations in the hospital for the next several weeks.
In a special night complete with red carpet, Hollywood movie clips and paparazzi, guests decked out in evening gowns and tuxedos honored several members of the community for their generosity during the Inaugural Backus Bennies event at the Backus Business and Technology Center.

"The first Annual Patient Safety Fair at Backus took place Tuesday, March 6 in the hospital's main level conference rooms. The event featured several speakers including Owen McCusker, a Cyber Security and Safety Expert, who talked about cyber threats to computer systems. Setu Vora, MD, Medical Director of Critical Care Services and Physician Director of Performance Improvement, spoke about patient safety. A number of posters related to patient safety were on display during the event. "
NORWICH – The William W. Backus Hospital will host a patient safety fair on Tuesday, March 6 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in honor of National Patient Safety Awareness Week March 4-10.
