More than 375 people attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Plainfield Backus Emergency Care Center on Tuesday, the latest sign of community support for the project.
NORWICH – The Backus Health System will host a Registered Nurse Job Fair for the Plainfield Backus Emergency Care Center, on Thursday, June 28, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the new facility at 582 Norwich Road in Plainfield.
NORWICH – Backus Hospital is offering a monthly support group on the second Tuesday of each month for cancer patients, survivors and their families. July’s session will discuss communicating with your provider on Tuesday, July 10, from 5-6 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby conference room #1 on 326 Washington Street.
In the morning there was a downpour. But when the Plainfield Relay for Life began Saturday at 11 a.m. the skies had cleared and cancer survivors, caregivers, families and friends flocked to Lions Field next to the Plainfield Town Hall for the 10th anniversary of The Relay For Life of Eastern Connecticut. More than 200 friends of Backus participated in the health system's annual golf tournament Thursday at Elmridge Golf Course in Pawcatuck. Attendees included a wide array of sponsors, donors, medical staff and employees. Thanks to all who participated and helped out. Preschool graduates at the Mary Allen Ross Child Care Center at Backus were honored Wednesday, June 13 with a special Goodbye Party at the center. As parents and family members applauded, each child was handed a diploma and book, a collection of photos, artwork and notes from the child. The center is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and many of the children graduating have been there since they were infants.
