Newest member joins Colchester team

Kristie Tapper, APRN, joined the Colchester Backus Health Center in January. “As a registered dietitian (RD) and certified diabetes educator (CDE) I worked with multi-disciplinary teams in caring for patients. I was inspired by the nurses and nurse practitioners to take on a role that allowed for more involvement in patient care,” she said. “I became a nurse and it was even more fulfilling than I’d anticipated.”

There is a new volunteer at Backus, but it may not be who you expect. Chance is a new member of the hospital’s therapeutic pet program, and the 160-pound Irish Wolfhound eagerly walks the floors of the hospital for visits with patients.
