NORWICH - Two specialists will offer parents tips for dealing with stress in their children and themselves in "Stressed Out? So Are Your Kids" on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in The William W. Backus Hospital's entry level conference rooms.

Presenter Carolyn Trasko, a licensed clinical social worker and certified addiction counselor, will offer families a tool kit for stressed-out children, offering tangible things to do to help children decompress. Presenter Cara Westcott, a licensed clinical social worker and vice president of behavioral health at United Community & Family Services in Norwich, plans to talk to parents about how they can recognize signs of stress in their children and themselves.

The event is free but registration is requested by calling 860-889-8331 ext. 2495.

The event is part of the Backus Nursing and Community Health Education Department monthly lecture series "Family Matters."
