The 29th Annual Backus Golf Tournament
The 29th Annual Backus Golf Tournament was held at Elmridge Golf Course, in Pawcatuck on June 10. Proceeds from this tournament will be used to support a multitude of community health education programs to help people lead healthier lives.

The purpose of the Backus Hospital Office of Philanthropy and Development is to solicit and receive contributions on behalf of The William W. Backus Hospital.
The Office of Philanthropy and Development strives through various avenues to ensure Backus Hospital's ability to foster the health and wellness of the residents of eastern Connecticut for generations to come.
In today's healthcare environment, with receding reimbursement from government agencies and managed care, our mission is critical.
We rely on the support of individuals, businesses and corporations in our community in order for Backus Hospital to improve our community’s health.
WHY I SUPPORT BACKUS
Giving is my way of saying thank you to the hospital…it’s my way of giving back. If you can’t be a doctor, play a doctor by donating money to life-saving causes like breast cancer. I have three daughters, and this gives me a sense that I am doing something to help them, and the female population as a whole.
