Backus Physician Services welcomes new provider

NORWICH – Priscilla Quilter, APRN, joined Backus Physician Services, a division of Backus Hospital, as a full-time practitioner on Jan. 4. Located at 12 Case Street in Norwich, Backus Physician Services employees a team board certified surgeons who perform a wide range of minimally invasive surgeries.
“I was attracted to Backus Hospital because it’s my community hospital,” said Mrs. Quilter. “I was raised in eastern Connecticut and it was important to me to come back and work here.”
For more than five years, Ms. Quilter has worked at Hartford Hospital in the area of surgical services. In her role at Backus, she facilitates patient care for surgeons, performs pre-surgery consultations, provides education sessions about various surgeries and post-operative care. She also assists at the Backus Weight Loss Center at 111 Salem Turnpike.
Ms. Quilter graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. She then went on to complete her Advanced Practice Registered Nurse degree from the University of Connecticut in 2005. She is board certified in acute care.
A resident of Gales Ferry, Ms. Quilter is married to Bryan Quilter and together the couple has two children, Ayden, 2, and Allyson, 6 months. She enjoys long-distance running, reading and gardening.
