Backus Pink Fair to focus on women’s health and wellness

NORWICH – The William W. Backus Hospital will host the fourth annual Pink Fair on Wednesday, April 25, from 3-6 p.m. in the hospital’s main lobby conference rooms.
The free event will focus on women’s health and wellness and will include free screenings, including bone densitometry and blood pressure. There will also be a celebration of Backus’ recent Breast Health Center Accreditation by the American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
Other highlights include: the Backus Breast Health Patient Navigator program, which helps guide women through the healthcare system after they receive a suspicious mammogram; insurance options for women and families; complementary therapies available through the Backus Center for Healthcare Integration (CHI); healthy eating and nutrition tips from Backus Dietitians; Backus surgeons; lymphedema specialists; the latest diagnostic imaging technology; palliative care; advanced directives; Backus Home Health Care; and skin cancer screenings from Advanced Dermatology starting at 4 p.m.
