Have fun learning about summer safety

NORWICH – Learn how staying safe can be fun at The William W. Backus Hospital’s annual Safety Camp on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot outside the Backus Medical Office Building entrance at 330 Washington Street in Norwich.
Children of all ages will be able to tour fire trucks and ambulances, and learn about injury prevention and what to do in an emergency through interactive activities.
Highlights of the event, which is organized by Backus and American Ambulance Service, include:
- Tours of LIFE STAR medical helicopter
- Free bicycle helmets and fittings, while supplies last
- Water safety
- Smokey Bear
- Booths featuring a variety of summer safety information and activities
- Face painting, free food and refreshments
