Backus to host discussion on psoriatic arthritis

(Norwich, Conn.) – The William W. Backus Hospital will host “Understanding Psoriatic Arthritis” on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 5-6 p.m. at the Backus Outpatient Care Center, 111 Salem Turnpike in Norwich. The talk will be presented by Sandeep Varma, MD, Medical Director of the Backus Arthritis Center.

Main symptoms of psoriatic arthritis include joint pain, stiffness and swelling. The disease is a form of arthritis that affects some people who have psoriasis, or red patches of skin with silver-looking scales.
