Brandon Stahl, MD, joins Backus urology team
November 26, 2013
Brandon Stahl, MD, is the newest member of the Backus urology team, joining Frank Friedman, MD and Casey McCullough, DO.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Dr. Stahl earned his undergraduate degree from University of Vermont and his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Most recently, Dr. Stahl worked as a staff urologist at York Hospital in York, Maine where he served as Chief of Surgery from 2010-12.
Getting to work with an established practice of experienced physicians like Drs. Friedman and McCullough was one of the reasons why he decided to relocate to Eastern Connecticut.
“They are two very busy, active urologists. And, they’re doing the most modern urologic procedures and techniques,” Stahl said. “I wanted to be in a progressive practice with more than one provider.”
Stahl says early detection and treatment of prostate cancer is an important focus.
“It’s an important topic and there is a lot of controversy about it. I hope the controversy doesn’t scare people away from at least having a discussion about who should be tested, who shouldn’t be tested, who should have treatment and who should not have treatment,” said Stahl. “Those are important conversations to have with a urologist.”
Drs. Friedman, McCullough and Stahl are located in the Backus Medical Office Building at 330 Washington Street, Suite 350 in Norwich. They may be reached at (860) 886-1956.
