Backus Community Series Kicks-Off With Free Talk on Hurricane Preparedness

NORWICH—Backus Hospital will kick-off a free community education series—“Let’s Talk about Your Health”—on Sept 9 with a discussion on preparing your home and family for hurricanes and other emergencies.
Hartford HealthCare East Region Manager of Emergency Preparedness Patrick Turek will lead the discussion in the Backus Hospital main lobby conference rooms at 326 Washington Street, Norwich, from 6:30 to 8pm.
The series will continue on October 8 with a talk by Mahmoud Okasha, MD, of Comprehensive Psychiatric Care, Inc. and the Backus medical staff on the signs, symptoms, diagnosis and new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. On November 11, Scott Stanat, MD of Norwich Orthopedic Group and the Backus medical staff will lead a discussion on managing hip and knee pain. Both will be held in the Backus Hospital main lobby conference rooms at 326 Washington Street, Norwich, from 6:30 to 8pm.
