Dr. Shahzad is board certified in Internal Medicine. He joined Backus Hospital in the East Region in 2007. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from SUNY-Stony Brook, NY. He obtained his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine from UCONN School of Medicine, Farmington, CT. He completed leadership training through PLDI. He leads the quality of care in patients in cardiology and sepsis. He likes to teach medical students and is in the faculty of UCONN School of Medicine as Clinical Assistant Professor. In his spare time, he likes to volunteer and spend time with his family. He has organized over 20 blood drives working with the Red Cross.
