Backus, local legislators hold press conference on Safe Havens Day

State Senator Cathy Osten, (D-Sprague) spoke about the Safe Havens law during a press conference outside of the Emergency Department at Backus Hospital Monday morning. April 4th is Safe Haven Day in Connecticut! The Safe Havens law is set up so mothers or family members may bring a newborn to any CT hospital emergency department within 30 days of birth to relinquish custody, with no fear of prosecution.
