Why did you choose Backus Hospital for your PGY-1 residency? As a pharmacy student, I had two learning experiences at Backus Hospital, one for institutional pharmacy and the other in emergency medicine. During these experiences, I was encouraged and felt supported as a learner to continually improve my pharmacy knowledge and played a strong role in my decision to return as a resident. Additionally, I chose Backus for the role it plays in creating well-rounded pharmacists, with a wide range of learning opportunities available, including the anticoagulation clinic and oncology infusion center. I also looked to Backus Hospital for the ability to grow as an emerging leader within a larger healthcare system.
Personal Interests: I really enjoy being outdoors and finding places to adventure to. I am an avid snowboarder in the winter months and look to paddle boarding in the summer months. Volleyball is one of my biggest passions. I’m always looking for new ways to cook and try out recipes. Currently my favorite thing to cook is Chicken Fettucine Alfredo. Finally, I like to read and learn about personal growth, development and finances.

Why did you choose Backus Hospital for your PGY-1 residency? I chose Backus Hospital for my PGY-1 residency because they offer a wide range of learning opportunities in their core rotations and electives and I was interested in such as two rounds of critical care. During my residency interview, the Backus Hospital residency program appealed to me because of the support, mentoring, and encouragement that was expressed for the new residents to help them learn, grow, and become independent. I feel the Backus Hospital Residency Program will provide great opportunities and learning experiences to help me develop and enhance my clinical skills in many areas and grow as a professional. Also, helping the community is important to me and Backus Hospital provides both volunteer and community outreach opportunities.
Personal Interests: I like traveling and exploring new places, trying new foods and restaurants, hiking, gaming, investing in collectibles, bowling, skiing, reading fantasy novels, and spending time with my family and my cat Sophie.
