Inpatient Care
The Inpatient Program is an 18-bed unit that provides high quality inpatient services to individuals with any psychiatric disorder including major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, postpartum psychosis, as well as those with dual diagnosis of substance abuse and psychiatric illness.
The unit is locked and secure allowing the admission of individuals on a voluntary basis, as well as those requiring commitment for treatment. The unit is organized in a multi-disciplinary fashion with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and an around the clock complement of psychiatric nurses and mental health workers. Patients are admitted around the clock. The mental health team works effectively to restore patients to the highest level of functioning, as quickly as possible, so that they can continue to receive treatment in the least restrictive environment possible.
Partial Hospitalization Program
The Partial Hospitalization Program provides intensive psychiatric treatment to patients who are experiencing acute symptoms that require a highly structured environment in which to receive treatment.
Partial hospitalization, which is offered for five hours a day, for up to five days per week, can follow a course of inpatient treatment, or to avoid inpatient treatment altogether. This level of care allows patients to continue to interact and receive the support of their families, friends and other support systems, as well as maintain many of their personal activities.
Center for Mental Health
The Center for Mental Health is the outpatient component of the full continuum of care in the Department of Psychiatric Services. We provide individual and group assessments and therapy sessions, as well as medication evaluation and treatment visits.
